FQC Construction Management

Lemont-Bromberek School District 113A

New River Valley Elementary School & Renovations to Oakwood School

Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) was selected to provide At-Risk Construction Management Services for the construction of a new elementary school, district maintenance facility and renovation of the existing Oakwood School for Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A. District personnel chose FQC, in part, due to the results FQC achieved at the adjacent high school district. The largest portion of the assignment, the construction of the 90,000 square foot River Valley Elementary School, involved the demolition of several existing structures. FQC staged the work to minimize disruptions to the adjacent school facility and completed the facility several months ahead of schedule. Highlights of this facility include:

  • 36,000 square foot physical education center designed and constructed to support activities of two adjacent schools.
  • Twenty-four classroom spaces equipped with a fiber optic based technology backbone.
  • Full development of a 23 acre parcel including parking and outdoor recreational spaces.

In conjunction with this facility the district charged FQC with the fast track construction of a new maintenance facility and renovations to the 35 year old Oakwood School. FQC identified and quantified the key elements necessary to complete these facilities and managed the construction to meet all the district’s expectations.
