FQC Construction Management

St. Bede Parish

School Additions & Renovations

The need for a regional K-8 catholic school in the far north suburbs prompted the Archdiocese of Chicago and the St. Bede Parish to select Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) as the At-Risk Construction Manager for the major improvements to St. Bede School.

The school accommodates 320 students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade and also serves as a Formation Center for the entire parish. This two-story addition and remodeling of the school replaced an older structure, most of which was completely demolished. The challenge once again for FQC was to carefully coordinate new construction and remodeling work while school remained in operation. Project highlights include:

  • New 42,210 square feet addition integrated with the existing facility now includes new specialty education laboratories for science, art, technology, music and a learning resource library.
  • Extensive renovation of 20,330 square feet of existing facilities in order to meet current accessibility and building code compliance bringing the entire complex up to 62,540 square feet.
I appreciate all that Frederick Quinn Corporation did to make our dream of a new Faith Formation Center a reality at St. Bede Parish. It was a pleasure working with you. — Rev. Timothy J. Fairman, Pastor
