FQC Construction Management

Glen Ellyn School District 41

2017 Referendum Projects - Frankin, Lincoln, Forest Glen & Churchill Schools

Following the successful completion of a $16 million project, completed in 2016, that added 18 classrooms across four elementary school buildings, Glen Ellyn SD 41 retained Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) to provide Construction Management services for continued facility expansion and improvement work.

The core driver of the Glen Ellyn SD 41 projects was the replacement of 30 portable trailer classrooms with built classrooms. The second phase of the replacement process required the passage of a $22.1 million dollar referendum in the Spring of 2017. Following the successful bond referendum passage, FQC worked with Glen Ellyn SD 41 to plan for and deliver a series of projects, including:

• A 10 classroom Hadley Junior High addition (thereby eliminating all portable classrooms); • Performing Arts Wing remodel at Hadley Junior High; • A secure entry addition and LMC renovation to Churchill Elementary School; • Mechanical Upgrades at Hadley Junior High; • Roofing replacements at all five school buildings; • And Life Safety updates at all five school buildings.

Frederick Quinn Corporation worked with the District and their architect throughout the preconstruction phase of the project, finalizing the project plan. Work occurred beginning in the Spring of 2018, and was completed in phases by September of 2019. Significant portions of the work were scheduled for summer-only work, with completion of various phases required prior to start of school in August of 2018 and 2019.
