FQC Construction Management

Park District of Forest Park

New Roos Family Recreation Center

The new Park District of Forest Park recreation center is located at the corner of Harrison Street and Circle Avenue in Forest Park, adjacent to the Park District’s current facility. The Park District acquired this three ace site that once was the home for the Roos cedar chest factory which at one time was the largest industrial concern in Forest Park.

FQC was selected by the Park District as construction manager early in the process to provide the Owner and design team with pre-construction and construction services including; cost estimating, value engineering, scheduling and phasing plan leading to the development of Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) and the construction of the new facility.

The new Recreation Center includes an 8,078 square foot gymnasium with main court and a two lane walking track, fitness zone, two multi-purpose rooms, storage and offices. The site design includes a central pavilion shelter, play structure, theater style terrace seating along with a meandering walking path and soccer field. The design also includes the reconfiguration of the current main drive to include new parking with drop off and pick off lanes. The project was completed in spring of 2018.

It has been refreshing to work with FQC, a company that understands and is dedicated to the team approach and assisted the architect, owner's rep, and the Park District in making the construction process efficient, and within the many budget constraints that we faced. I truly believe that it was due to their diligence that the project came under budget and provided savings to the Park District. Larry Piekarz, Executive Director
