Additions and Historic Renovations

Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) was selected to provide Construction Management services for the additions and renovations for the Aurora Civic Center Authority's Paramount Theatre and Downer Place Building. The project included a new grand lobby and entry addition, renovations to various interior spaces and the rehabilitation of an adjacent structure (Downer Place) into new support spaces for theatre functions. The improvements were designed and built to support and compliment the historic character of the original Paramount Theatre building. The new construction portion of the project created a new theatre entrance, a gathering area for patrons and a double wide spiral stairwell in the grand open lobby. New construction was tied into the historic structure, preserving and restoring roofing, interior finishes and exterior finishes. FQC also renovated the abandoned two-story Downer Place building behind the theatre, providing for studios, dressing room and necessary support functions. Highlights of the project include:
