Greenbriar Elementary School Addition & Renovations

In a joint effort with the Northbrook Park District, Northbrook School District 28 awarded the construction contract through a pre-qualified selection process to FQC for the addition and renovations to Greenbriar Elementary School. The total construction program, valued at $7.6 million includes a 21,300 sq. ft. addition consisting of classrooms, gymnasium, bathrooms, and administrative offices. Renovations to approximately 30,000 sq. ft. of existing school space consist primarily of new floor finishes, ceilings, lighting, and bathroom remodeling. The new addition meets LEED requirements but will not be officially certified. Construction occurred while school remained operational and completed in time for school to open in August 2012.

This project is located in a highly travelled and active location and on a restricted school site. Working in close coordination with the Owner, design team, and local municipalities was paramount in ensuring minimal disruption to local activity.
