New Courthouse

Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) provided general contractor services for the new 170,000 SF Kane County Courthouse. It was designed to be the most state-of-the-art courthouse of its kind in the country at that time. Housed within the courthouse are 15 courtrooms and support areas. The first of three phases on the 150-acre site, the building includes security systems, secure public and prisoner circulation areas, and support spaces for judges, administration staff, State’s Attorney, Public Defender and County Clerk.

Highlights of the project include:

• Separate access corridors for judges, public, staff and prisoners
• Secure sally port with holding cells
• Courts for felony, DUI, misdemeanor, domestic and juvenile proceedings
• Fifteen courtrooms
• Capable of expansion as court-related agencies move to other facilities on the campus
