Renovations to O'Plaine Elementary School

Frederick Quinn Corporation was selected to provide referendum assistance and construction management services for the construction of a new elementary school, renovations to O’Plaine Elementary School, and new District offices for Gurnee School District 56. The largest portion of the project, the new elementary school, was a goal of District 56 for several years due to the constant flooding issues occurring at the existing Gurnee Grade School. After 7 failed referendum attempts, a highly effective campaign that FQC and other members of the project team assisted with finally presented a compelling reason for the voters to support the District projects. Highlights of the project include:

Renovations to O’Plaine School include:

• New stage for arts and performances
• Additional science labs
• Modifications to accommodate kindergarten students
• Locker rooms

This project was successfully completed with an aggressive schedule. A portion of the work was completed while the school remained operational and was done so with a 100% safety record.
