The Church of Holy Apostles

New Church

Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) was selected by The Church of Holy Apostles community to provide At-Risk Construction services for the construction of its new 1,200 seat church. This vibrant parish had outgrown its original worship space and the need for a new building to house the many ministries and activities was apparent. FQC teamed with Jaeger, Nickola & Associates to bring the design and construction of this facility to reality, adding 26,000 SF of new space and renovating an additional 13,000 SF. Features of this facility include:

  • 120’ steel trusses spanning the entire length of the worship area. These components form the massive roof structure and dramatic clear story ceiling.
  • Antiphonal seating arrangement with raised wood altar platform and solid granite altar, ambo and baptismal font elements.
  • Load bearing precast wall panel system and architectural concrete floor finishes throughout the nave and narthex area.
  • Video and closed circuit projection systems coupled with a state of the art sound and voice reinforcement systems.

The parish was diligent in maintaining its commitment to creating a nautical theme for the physical characteristics and finishes of this space. Custom fixturing and unique design ideas positively challenged all members of the project team.

FQC’s accurate cost models and attention to construction details facilitated a project built within budget and to the highest quality standards. Because of the dynamic nature of this project, significant design changes were undertaken while the project was underway.
