Notre Dame Parish

New Church and School Renovations

Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) was awarded the general construction contract to complete the construction of the new church facility for Notre Dame parish. In conjunction with the construction of the church FQC also assumed responsibility for the renovations to the existing church facility and adjacent school. Construction sequencing was crucial because in the final plan the existing school entrance was eliminated. FQC met with the school administration and parish staff to clearly understand the needs of these groups. After these needs were reviewed and prioritized FQC devised a sequence of construction and site utilization plan which allowed the school and church to function efficiently without compromising the safety of the students and staff. Some features of this facility include:

  • 700 seat nave facility including glue laminated wood timber roof construction.
  • Load bearing masonry wall construction featuring canted walls and a bell tower rising to a height of 48’.
  • Administrative spaces for all pastoral staff and divisible meeting rooms designed for maximum flexibility.
  • Fully integrated computer laboratory complete with internet access and 50 computer stations.
  • Renovation of former gymnasium space into new library space.
  • Full refurbishment of existing church into competition gymnasium including moveable seating systems, basketball and volleyball appurtences and cushioned floating maple hardwood floor.
  • Full site development including upgraded parking lot, brick paver walks and plazas, natural limestone retaining walls and prairie.
