FQC Construction Management

Community Consolidated School District 15

New Elementary School and Additions and Renovations

Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) was selected to provide General Contractor Services for the construction of the new Central Road Elementary School in Rolling Meadows and an addition and renovations to the Winston Campus in Palatine. The new elementary school at 61,000 SF served as a replacement for a flood prone school located on the same site. FQC managed the asbestos abatement, demolition and all facets of the construction program to deliver this facility on time and budget. Due to its proximity to Salt Creek, FQC devised a schedule of construction to ensure that the facility was built and enclosed prior to the spring rains which typically cause the greatest risk for flooding. Features of this facility include:

  • Expanded bi-level learning resource center including elevator core spaces and elevated walkway.
  • Thirty-four classroom spaces situated around a group of central core areas designed and constructed to ease traffic patterns throughout the school.
  • Full development of an eighteen acre parcel including parking and outdoor recreational spaces.

The completion of this facility marked the second successful project completed for the School District. The ability to expedite the progression of work resulted in a successful endeavor.
