FQC Construction Management

Benedictine University

Kindlon Hall of Learning Library Complex

Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) was retained by Benedictine University to provide Design and At-Risk Construction Management Services for the first phase of their “BU 2000” campus renovation. A major portion of this work included the design and construction of Kindlon Hall of Learning, a five story multimedia library complex. Sequencing the concurrent construction of this learning facility without interrupting campus life was paramount to the client. FQC met this criteria successfully and delivered the initiative before the scheduled completion date. The features of the 81,000 square foot building include:

  • Television studio, computer hub room, sensitive document storage facility, art gallery, multi-media lab and lounge
  • Two story atrium space topped by 70’ skylight system
  • Document control system
  • Additional classrooms, laboratories and office space
  • Academic Resource Center

The other portion of the initiative was the Birck Hall of Science. These facilities collectively encompass 151,000 SF and are situated at the heart of the Benedictine University campus.
