FQC Construction Management

St. Mary of Vernon

New Church

The faith community of St. Mary of Vernon chose Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) to provide At-Risk Construction services for the construction of its new worship facility. Located in Indian Creek, Illinois, this community’s steady population growth had created a need for a bigger sanctuary and the related support facilities. FQC teamed with Jaeger, Nickola & Associates to develop a scheme that met the parish’s limited budget and building site. Features of this facility include:

  • 90’ steel trusses spanning the entire length of the worship area, providing the structural basis of the low and high roof.
  • Sloped flooring at the seating area allowing better sight lines to the altar platform.
  • Flowing baptismal font equipped with independent water source, filtration system and automatic flow and level controls.
  • Custom designed ceremonial doors and art glass highlighting sacred spaces.

Governmental restrictions imposed once the project had commenced tested the scheduling skills of the FQC field supervisory staff. Construction sequences were reconfigured to meet these restrictions. Through FQC’s careful planning and solid execution this project was completed approximately four months ahead of its initial schedule allowing the parish to enjoy its new space. FQC adjusted to the project’s demands and exceeded the owners expectations.

At each stage of this process, the personnel from FQC have worked diligently with us and with our architect not only to get things done, but to help us plan prudently, save money without cutting corners or losing quality, and creating a beautiful place of worship. - Rev. Joseph Curtis
