FQC Construction Management

St. Mary of the Annunciation

New Church

The tremendous growth in Lake County inspired the community of St. Mary of the Annunciation to undertake an ambitious building plan. Retaining the services of nationally recognized architect Dirk Lohan, St. Mary envisioned a “prototypical church of tomorrow.” Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) was selected to implement this plan and provide At-Risk Construction Management Services. Located on a 28 acre parcel in rural Lake County this facility presented a multitude of unique challenges. A lack of water or sewer service in this area caused FQC and the project team to devise and install unconventional systems to satisfy these requirements. High end finishes on the interior of this facility tested the abilities of the most seasoned craftsman. Unusual angles and unique uses of materials drove the FQC team to think outside of the box to resolve the challenges of this project. Features of the facility include:

  • Worship space with capacity for 1200 occupants. Canted drywall walls and ceilings reaching to 55’ above grade level. Solid granite flooring and baptismal font and exotic hardwood custom millwork and trim.
  • Redundant emergency systems capable of providing emergency power and fire suppression without municipal service.
  • Man made lake and full development of 28 acre site including parking for 400 vehicles.
