Bloomingdale School District 13

DuJardin Elementary & Westfield Middle School

Frederick Quinn Corporation (FQC) was selected to provide Construction Manager services to Bloomingdale School District 13 for their DuJardin & Westfield Middle School Additions & Remodeling project.

The original project was originally conceived as a classroom addition project at Westfield Middle School along with some deferred maintenance and life safety improvements at both Westfield and DuJardin Elementary School. The nine classroom addition to Westfield Middle School also included remodeling of the Learning Resource Center.

FQC worked with the District and their architect, FGM Architects, through Schematic Design developing cost estimates and logistics plans for the project. Following Board decision-making, the project was reduced to eliminate the addition at Westfield and focus on the deferred maintenance and life safety issues.

FQC worked with the District and FGM Architects to re-conceptualize the project and develop cost estimates for the highest priority work items. The final project included HVAC upgrades, building envelope repairs, roof replacement, some interior library remodeling at DuJardin and miscellaneous life safety items.

The work occurred over the summer of 2019 to minimize disruption to ongoing school operations.
